Marshal of the Indian air force Arjan Singh, DFC & suri
Suri maintained a close relationship with the Marshal of the air force from 1991 to his passing away in 2017. Suri always viewed the Marshal of the Air force as an inspiration and a beacon of hope for generations to follow.
The first medal suri received was from Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh in 1969 (VM). Also, The marshal of the Air Force had recommended Suri to the prime minster, home minister and defence minister for the Prestigious Padma Bushan Award for three consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017). Had this award been granted, Suri's first and final lifetime award would have been orchestrated by Marshal Arjan Singh. However the recognition by Marshal Arjan Singh meant more to Suri than the award itself.
